Young Leaders
If you are between the ages of 16 and 24, there’s a new Youth Leadership Council you can join as part of the L.A. Opportunity Youth Collaborative (OYC).
If you are a young adult who is or has been in foster care, and you want to help change the system, get involved with the Young Leaders program. You’ll meet new friends, and have the opportunity to give advice to organizations that provide services for young people who have been in foster care.
Being on the Youth Leadership Council will teach you skills you can use in your career, including how to speak for yourself in an effective way.
The only requirement to participate is that you attend monthly meetings. Participants receive a small stipend for their time.
Youth Leaders:

- Gain confidence
- Make a difference for their peers
